Maserati Maintenance Intervals: Scheduled Service and Five-Year Visit Estimates
October 01 2026 - Maserati of Central New Jersey

Which Maserati is actually reliable? No independent reliability ranking we could verify names one Maserati model as the most dependable, so we will not invent one. Maserati's owner's manuals for the gasoline 2024 Grecale and 2023 Levante call for a scheduled service once a year, or sooner by mileage, at intervals of about 9,300 and 12,400 miles respectively. A complete maintenance history is a useful starting point, but it does not guarantee reliability. Review the vehicle's condition, recall status and inspection results before buying.

This guide was prepared by Maserati of Central New Jersey in Edison. It covers gasoline-powered versions only; electric Folgore models follow a separate schedule. Intervals come from the Scheduled Service Plan in the Maserati owner's manuals named in each row. Warranty terms come from Maserati USA's published program pages, and warranty rights from the Federal Trade Commission's consumer guidance. Intervals change between generations and engines, so confirm the schedule for your exact model year and engine.

A Maserati in for scheduled maintenance, illustrating service intervals for the Grecale and Levante.

This guide covers gasoline versions of the Grecale, Levante, Ghibli and GranTurismo, with published intervals quoted only where the owner's manual edition was confirmed. It answers four questions owners ask before they buy or before a big service: which Maserati holds up, which year to buy, which Levante year to skip, and whether a Maserati is high maintenance. It counts scheduled visits, not dollars.

How often does each Maserati need service?

Model and interval What is performed What drives the bill at that visit
Grecale (2024 owner's manual): every 9,321 mi (15,000 km) or 1 year Numbered service coupon from the Scheduled Service Plan, engine oil changed at or before the interval. Brake fluid replaced every 2 years regardless of mileage. The coupon number. Coupons that add brake fluid replacement involve additional work at that visit.
Levante (2023 owner's manual): every 12,428 mi (20,000 km) or 1 year Six numbered service coupons, then the cycle restarts. Oil is never to run past the interval. Which of the six coupons is due.
Ghibli Interval and service coupons are printed in the owner's manual Scheduled Service Plan for your model year and engine. Ask a service advisor to confirm them for your VIN. Model year and engine.
GranTurismo (2024 owner's manual) Interval Running Coupons are printed in the 2024 owner's manual Scheduled Service Plan. Ask a service advisor to confirm the interval for your VIN and engine. Engine and coupon number.

Intervals as printed in each model's owner's manual Scheduled Service Plan, reviewed October 1, 2026. Whichever limit comes first applies. Your own manual, for your model year and engine, is the final word.

The 2024 Grecale and 2023 Levante each call for a scheduled service once a year, or earlier if the miles come first. The Grecale's mileage limit is 9,321 miles; the Levante's is 12,428 miles.

Do not rely on mileage reminders alone. Follow both the time and mileage limits in your vehicle's maintenance schedule, even if no dashboard reminder is displayed.

We do not publish one fixed price per service, because the work changes with the coupon number and the engine. Request a written estimate and authorize the agreed work before repairs begin, and check our service specials page for any offer running when you book.

What does each service include?

Each visit is a numbered service coupon from the owner's manual. On the 2024 Grecale and 2023 Levante, an engine oil change is due at or before every interval. Inspections and additional replacements vary by scheduled service.

The Levante and Grecale manuals run in a numbered cycle. After the last coupon, maintenance restarts with the operations scheduled for the first few services. Ask a service advisor which coupon your car is on. It largely determines what work the visit includes.

Two items run on the calendar, not the odometer. Oil has a one-year limit on the 2024 Grecale and 2023 Levante. On the 2024 Grecale, brake fluid is replaced every two years regardless of mileage, so a garaged Grecale still owes it.

Maserati describes its Genuine Parts and fluids as designed to fit and work with the other components to the original technical specifications.

Five-year visit estimates

At 10,000 miles a year, a 2024 Grecale or 2023 Levante reaches five scheduled services in five years. At 15,000 miles a year, the Grecale's shorter interval pushes it to eight, against six for the Levante.

Model 10,000 miles a year (50,000 in 5 years) 15,000 miles a year (75,000 in 5 years)
Grecale, 2024 owner's manual (9,321 mi or 1 year) 5 scheduled services; brake fluid replacement also due in years 2 and 4 8 scheduled services; brake fluid replacement also due in years 2 and 4
Levante, 2023 owner's manual (12,428 mi or 1 year) 5 scheduled services, one a year 6 scheduled services

Calculated by us from the intervals in the table above, counting services due from new through the end of year five, with even mileage and service on time. Brake fluid replacement is additional work and may coincide with a scheduled service rather than add a visit. These estimates count the standard scheduled-service intervals only. Earlier oil changes, other time-based maintenance and unexpected repairs may require additional work or visits. The Ghibli and GranTurismo are not counted here; confirm their intervals in the owner's manual for your model year and engine. This is a visit estimate, not a price.

At higher mileage, a Grecale reaches its interval two more times in five years than a Levante driven the same distance. Budget by visit count first, then request a written estimate for each coupon on your VIN.

Maserati also lists service contracts on its US site. Ask whether one applies to your car before the first paid service.

Is a Maserati a high-maintenance car?

Scheduled maintenance follows a fixed plan: on the 2024 Grecale and 2023 Levante, a visit at 9,321 or 12,428 miles or once a year, a one-year oil limit, and brake fluid on a calendar for the Grecale. Gaps in service records should be investigated.

Scheduled-service visit counts do not include unexpected repairs or replacement of tires and brake wear components. Those depend on the individual car and how it is driven, so plan for them separately.

If you regularly make short trips, ask your service advisor whether your vehicle's manual calls for a shorter oil-change interval.

What is the best year Maserati to buy?

Remaining factory warranty can be a useful buying consideration, alongside condition, service history and a pre-purchase inspection. Maserati USA lists a New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years or 50,000 miles, and its Certified Pre-Owned Program only accepts cars still inside that warranty.

A certified car adds up to 2 years of limited coverage beyond the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, up to 6 years from the original in-service date. The unlimited mileage applies to that CPO extension, not to the original factory warranty. Coverage is limited to covered failures in specified components, including the engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake system, cooling, fuel and electrical systems; routine maintenance and replacement of brake pads or rotors due to normal wear are not covered; consult the applicable warranty booklet for exclusions. Maserati also lists an Extended Warranty Program that can extend coverage up to the sixth year, with availability varying by model.

What year should you avoid on a Maserati Levante?

We do not single out one Levante model year to avoid. Judge the individual vehicle instead: its service records, recall status and a pre-purchase inspection.

Maserati's current US model lineup no longer lists the Levante, and the Grecale is its SUV. That makes the paper trail on a used Levante more important, not less. Before you buy, enter the VIN in the recall lookup on Maserati's US site and in NHTSA's recall search at nhtsa.gov/recalls. Check the VIN for open safety recalls and ask an authorized dealer to confirm remedy availability and provide documentation of completed recall repairs.

Then match the service records to the six-coupon cycle in the 2023 Levante manual. A missing year is a question to ask the seller, not a detail to skip.

Warranty: what keeps it intact

Follow the maintenance schedule and retain invoices showing the work performed and materials used. Missing required maintenance may affect coverage for related damage, but using an independent repair shop or aftermarket parts does not automatically void the vehicle's warranty.

Maserati's manuals warn that not following the maintenance schedule can affect the warranty. The Federal Trade Commission is equally clear that a dealer cannot deny warranty coverage simply because routine maintenance or repairs were done somewhere else, or because an aftermarket or recycled part was used. Coverage can be denied for damage that a part or repair is shown to have caused. Maintenance compliance alone does not guarantee that every claim is covered.

An independent shop that follows the manual and keeps records is a legitimate choice. An authorized Maserati dealer offers Maserati Genuine Parts and a service record kept by the dealership, which a future buyer can review.
